Friday, September 28, 2007 Judges to probe commotion at Hall of Justice By Jay Dooma Balnig
JUDGES from the Ramon Q. Avanceña Hall of Justice wanted to know why the grappling incident that happened at their office corridors was not reported to the concerned police precinct until now.
The incident happened at around 4:00 in the afternoon last September 26, at the lobby area, when a displeased lady, who was denied a parking space and entry to the Hall of Justice, reportedly became unruly.
Guards on duty said that on the date and time, the lady, “who refused to be identified,” attempted to park her Honda Civic car inside the Hall of Justice’s parking area, which was allotted for the employees only, but was barred from getting a space.
After her initial failure, the lady, who was allegedly wearing short pants, again tried to enter the building but the guards at the entrance blocked her once more.
The guards said they strictly observe the policy of “no person on sleeveless shirt, short pants, or slippers allowed inside."
The infuriated young lady allegedly went wild, grabbed, and destroyed the poster bearing the same announcement. Still not contented, she walked off and went to the flag pole and tried to remove the Philippine flag.
According to some witnesses, the disorder caused the guards to seize the lady and call the attention of Executive Judge Roger Patricio.
After a minute of negotiation, Patricio allegedly allowed the lady to leave.
What puzzled the judges was the fact that the incident was not reported to a police precinct, the detailed cops in the Hall of Justice was absent, and that the name and address of the lady was not even logged in the logbook.
They are reportedly looking into the liability of the detailed cops who failed to book the incident with the nearest precinct.
