They lost their cash amounting to P9,800 and cellular phones to a woman who introduced herself as Shiela Tan. The latter approached them and won her game last Friday at 10 a.m. at Huervana-Rizal Sts., La Paz , Iloilo City.
Pacumbo said they have just withdrawn the cash and were walking away from the ATM machine when Tan approached them and asked where to find the "Continental hardware."
After which, Tan started to execute her dirty tricks by asking the two to look after her pouch with P72,000 inside for she would meet her friend who could lead her to the store. In exchange, she asked the two to give her their cellular phones and cash.
There was no Tan that returned even after three hours, that started to make them feel doubtful and open the pouch, which contained pieces of newspapers cut like peso bills.
It prompted the two to immediately report the crime to the nearest police station.
Meanwhile, a woman from Man-it, Passi City who was identified as Jennifer Pabligo also lost her cash amounting to P2,000 and her cellular phone to two women the same day at around 4 p.m.
Just the same, Pabligo has just withdrawn the cash from an ATM machine when a woman approached her and asked where to buy some construction materials.
Her cohort then arrived and offered her help and after several minutes of sweet-talking, Pabligo was convinced of giving her money and cellular phone to the two in exchange of the huge amount of cash that the two said they left inside their bag, which she would look after while they were gone.
The same women did not return and carted away her money and phone.
Police authorities once again reminded the public to be always vigilant to avoid getting victimized by this group too.
