Bernard Dohinog of Barangay Capay-capay, Dueñas, Iloilo was arrested at around 4:30 a.m. with the help of some residents, who mobbed him during the operation.

His other companion was able to escape.

A police report showed that Dohinog and his companion use a motorcycle as their getaway vehicle when they stole electric wires in the said area of Calinog.

Their motorcycle and a sack of telephone wires were recovered from their possession. Dohinog sustained an injury on his left cheek and is now detained at the cell of Calinog Police Station.

Dohinog, in a radio interview, admitted the crime. He said they sold the wires to a junk shop at a good price.

Police sources showed that Dohinog's group was responsible for the theft of electric and telephone wires in the same town and as well as in the fourth district of Iloilo--Dueñas and Passi City.

Police found out that Dohinog has a string of similar charges filed in the said district.
