Most wanted robbery group hits passenger van By Ruby P. Silubrico
THE group of Roger Palma from Calinog, Iloilo, hits again last Friday by carting away P50, 000 cash and valuables from 11 passengers of a passenger van bound to Estancia, Iloilo. The passengers said they were traversing the town of Banate , Iloilo when Palma and his cohorts, who disguised as co-passengers declared a hold-up.
Post your comments here on the Makati siege Chief of San Rafael Police Station, Inspector Ariel Galeno, said three armed men, who were suspected to be members of the said group, declared a hold-up upon reaching the town proper of Banate at around 8 p.m. the said day. After their operation, the robbers ordered the driver of the black van, Harly Balasote of Lawaan, Jaro, Iloilo City to proceed to the town of San Rafael . Balasote said the thieves asked them all to abandon the van upon reaching Sitio Baclayan, Barangay Madarag, San Enrique. He said Palma himself drove the van and left it at Barangay Fajardo, Jaro, Iloilo City. The victims were identified as Marjorie Chong, 32, of Balasan, Iloilo, Jean Acoyan, 33, Ronald Acoyan, 32, of Balsan, Abelardo Montibon, 53, of Carles, Maria Amantillo, 55, of Batad, Ann Barios, 44, of Balasan, Armie De Asis, 41, of Balasan, Candido Asignacion, 49, Ervie Saron, 23, of Balasan, Cynthia Mijares, 38, of Estancia and Janet Malonda, 24, of Paon, Carles, Iloilo. Galeno surmised that the said group rode from the terminal at Jaro and pretended as passengers. Iloilo Governor Niel D.
