More help extended to flood victims
A WEEK after Iloilo City was devastated with a flashflood, help still pours in for those affected by the recent calamity.
City Mayor Jerry Treñas said the province of Candaba in Luzon has brought a water tank with a capacity of 10,000 liters to the city.

About 75 percent of the city's population has an insufficient supply of potable water after the flood.
Las Piñas City is also sending canned goods worth P100,000 to supplement the relief operation for the flood victims.
Ben-Hur Abalos of Las Piñas has committed P100,000 to the city while Mayor Edward Hagedorn of Palawan promised to give P200,000.
Other local government units such as Butuan City also committed to send in financial aid.
More than a hundred cans of sardines worth P100,000 donated by Ilonggos in Melbourne, Australia also arrived.
Last Wednesday, the Spanish Embassy brought in a water treatment plant for purifying and distilling ordinary water.
They also brought with them medicines and water containers to be utilized by the City Government and the general public. (EC)
