Engineers Jerome Borjal and Al Fruto said the bridge has a budget of P50 million.

The 5.6 hectares relocation site in Barangay Lanit is estimated to cost P56 million while P25 million is allocated for the 2.5 hectares relocation site in Barangay Sooc.

The city also sets a P162 million budget for the 16.2 hectares site in Barangay San Isidro.

The project with a total budget of P293 million will be implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). It has a timeframe of five months to run from August to December this year.

The Core Shelter Assistance Project with a P133 million budget will be implemented by the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO). It will commence on August this year and is expected to be finished by December.

Last is the development of the 300 houses for the Gawad Kalinga housing project.

City government allots P18 million while lone district of Iloilo Congressman Raul Gonzalez Jr. gives P6 million.

Department of Social Welfare and Development Office (DSWD) will also help.

At present, the number of families occupying danger areas is 2,910.

These families live near riverbanks or along the creeks highly susceptible to devastations.

The city plans to prohibit anyone from living in these and other danger areas. (Erwin Cabarles)
