Tuesday, September 09, 2008 PDEA nabs 2 'pushers' in a buy-bust anew
ANOTHER two alleged pushers fell in the hands of the authorities last Sunday during a buy-bust operation at Mission Road, Corner E. Lopez St., Jaro, Iloilo City.
The operation of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Western Visayas under Superintendent Roybel Sanchez yielded alleged pushers, Danilo Payot, 24, of Bolilao, Mandurriao, and Julius Pornel, 27, of Bakhaw, Mandurriao, Iloilo City.
They were arrested at 3:45 p.m. after selling shabu worth P1,500. Another small sachet of shabu and cash money amounting to P2,377 was recovered when the PDEA elements frisked them.
The two were under surveillance for several days before the operation was conducted. The PDEA received information that they were getting their drug supply in Bolilao and Bakhaw, Mandurriao, one of the identified hot spots for drugs as per record of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
Meanwhile, a certain Helton Joseph Napatal was detained at the Iloilo City Police Station at 12:10 a.m. of the following day after a dried marijuana was recovered in his possession following his arrest for allegedly creating annoyance in their place at Sto Niño Sur, Arevalo.
According to reports, Napatal, who was very unruly, went wild inside their house following a misunderstanding with a family member.
Sto. Niño Sur barangay captain Nestor Espinosa sought police assistance following Napatal's unruly behavior.
When Napatal was brought to the police station, dried marijuana leaves were recovered from his pocket. He reportedly admitted that he is using drugs.
The Iloilo City Police already filed charges against Napatal not only for the nuisance he has created but also for the use of illegal drugs. (RPS)
