Friday, September 12, 2008 Two City Hall departments cited
THE Civil Service Commission (CSC) in Western Visayas has commended two of the Iloilo City Government's frontline departments for their exemplary dispensation of services to the public.
The commendation came after the CSC implemented the Public Service Delivery Audit/Assistance (Pasada), a system that involves evaluation of the performance of government frontline services by a pool of public service volunteers.
Recipients of "Very Good" ratings from the CSC volunteers and monitors were the real property assessment services of the City Assessor's Office and the service extended by the City Treasurer's Office to those paying their fees and taxes.
According to CSC Director Rodolfo Encajonado, the services were rated according to the value of customer care given by government offices and by the degree of promptness, courtesy, response, facility, and pleasantness felt by the volunteers in transacting business with the offices.
The volunteers, who did the monitoring from May to August this year, evaluated 27 government agencies, two local government units, one banking institution, and three government hospitals in the province and city of Iloilo and did a total of 348 transactions.
Some of the factors considered during the evaluation were the service provider, the structure, systems and procedure, and the physical working condition of the organization.
The CSC will bestow awards to the two city departments along with other awardees in a ceremony slated this September 22nd at SM City mall in Mandurriao district.
Apprised by Encajonado about the results of the monitoring, Mayor Jerry P. Treñas congratulated the city's treasury and assessment personnel for the honor they brought to the City Government and said the award will serve as an inspiration for the rest of the employees. (PIO)
