Saturday, September 13, 2008 Mobile group heads task force vs hired killers By Jay Dooma Balnig
THE Iloilo City Police Office (Icpo) appointed its support unit, the Iloilo City Mobile Group (ICMG), as the leading group that would work against hired killers operating in Iloilo City.
Icpo Director Bartolome Tobias said the group was created in response to the recent guns-for-hire activities in Iloilo.
Superintendent John Mitchell Jamili, the ICMG Director, will lead the task group.
Tobias revealed the composition of the group during the Iloilo City Peace and Order Council meeting with Mayor Jerry Treñas last week.
Tobias said the task force will focus on intelligence monitoring against the guns-for-hire activities in the entire city.
Despite the recent series of killings in Iloilo City, Treñas recently claimed that the city is still safe to live in.
The recent victims of guns-for-hire were Superintendent Casiano Del Castillo of Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Eddie Pedrajas of Barangay Bakhaw, Mandurriao and several others.
