Treñas said it will be renovated into a "world class" toilet.
He said the toilet is now undergoing renovation, with a budget of P1 million from President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
He said proper fixtures are being installed in the toilet for a better function when used by the vendors and the general public.
Treñas also said that aside from the installation of better fixtures such as new toilet bowls, the floor and the walls of the public toilet is also being tiled to make it look neat. The roof is also included in the repair.
There were previous observations that the public toilet is dirty and smells really bad due to lack of city's effort in maintaining it.
According to Treñas, the new and "improved" toilet guarantees cleanliness for the users.
"This new toilet will be better and cleaner. It is just a toilet but we have to give it attention as it is being used by our people," he said.
He added that the project is part of their campaign for Clean and Green in Iloilo City.
Treñas said the toilet in Central Market will be open to the public before the year ends, adding that the dilapidated roofing of the Iloilo Terminal Market will also be repaired.
