Wednesday, October 08, 2008 Police nab one of Capasao's 'killers' By Ruby P. Silubrico
POLICE arrested Tuesday one of the suspects who shot dead a former member of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Western Visayas at Leganes, Iloilo.
Regional Intelligence operatives arrested Christopher Talamor, 37, of Sulangan, Dumangas after a long chase Tuesday noon.
Talamor was cornered in a house in the area and a .45 pistol was recovered from his possession.
Talamor was tagged as among the suspects who shot Police Officer 2 Frederick Capasao last October 23, 2007 at EastWood Subdivision Jereos, La Paz, Iloilo City.
Capasao was about to park his jeep in front of his house with his wife when a Starex van with two suspects onboard stopped and started shooting at Capasao.
The said suspects were seen shooting Capasao for several times, resulting to his immediate death. Capasao's wife, Sol, positively identified Talamor as among the assassins of her husband, who was very active in fighting against illegal drugs.
Talamor was also linked in the killing of Iloilo Sheriff Jerry Tugado, also in the latter's residence and that of Barangay Tambal, Janiuay, Captain Jerry Colaja last October 9, 2007.
Talamor, however, denied the accusations hurled against him in media interviews.
