Showbits By Charmaine
KIBITZERS are wondering how sincere Rufa Mae Quinto was when she declared her readiness to become the godmother of her ex-boyfriend Dingdong Avanzado's and Jessa Zaragoza’s upcoming baby.
The well-endowed sexy comedienne says it’s been so long and she has already forgotten the bitterness left inside her by Dingdong.
“Sa akin naman, basta bata, walang problema. Tsaka matagal na yuun no, nakalimutan ko na,” Rufa insisted during the press conference of her latest movie “AB Normal College.”
Rufa has so many things to be thankful for these days.
Her beauty salon is doing so good, apart from her boutique and money exchange businesses.
Even as she mends a broken heart (remember her breakup with Fil-Am cager Rudy Hatfield?), Rufa says she wants to concentrate on her career this time.
After her admission that she was courted by Mikey Arroyo, the next political figure now being linked to Rufa is--would you believe?--Quezon City Rep. Chuck Mathay, Jr., father of sexy actress and Rufa’s friend Ara Mina.
“Si Ara mismo nagsabi sa akin nun, tawa ng tawa. Sabi ko nga, ano? Ni hindi ko pa nga nami-meet Daddy mo, eh,” Rufa swears.
Can’t tongue-wagers think of more credible (read: younger) personalities, hmmm?

JANICE de Belen says she doesn’t mind seeing her estrange husband John Estrada inside the GMA-7 television network.
Reports have it John is being offered by the “Kapuso” network a more interesting contract compared to his arrangement over at ABS-CBN, where only one teledrama is keeping him visible.
Janice says she wouldn’t mind also if John and Vanessa del Bianco would guest in her program with sister Gelli de Belen, “Sis,” provided the appearance would be interesting.
Asked what she would give them the moment they see each other, Janice said: “Siguro ang io-ooffer ko sa kanila cake. Pero sasabihin ko sa kanila, walang poison yan ha,” which she finished with a loud laugh.
Well, good girls always have the last laugh, you know…
And speaking of John, the latest I heard from the grapevine is that he is turning down GMA’s offer.
He is also not accepting ABS-CBN’s proposal for him to join the Boy Abunda-Kris Aquino tandem in “The Buzz.”
John admits he does not have the stomach to pry on the personal affairs of his co-actors, considering his own life has plenty to tell.
He said he would rather see his good friend Richard Gomez doing that stuff over at “S-Files.”
At least honest siya, huh!

HUNK Diether Ocampo this week faced the press anew as the official endorser of Pizza Hut’s stuffed crust pizza.
Diether, who appeared so “in love” and “obsessed” with his pizza said it took them a whole day to take those shots.
The 15-seconder commercial is now being aired in major television stations.
Hours before he attended the press launching, Diether was in a television talk show, admitting to the public that he really did court ‘mature’ yet still desirable actress Dina Bonnevie.
But the effort did not prosper.
Oh, well, better luck next time. (SUNNEX LUZON)
