12-year-old boy abducted in Parañaque By Miko Santos
ARMED men kidnapped a 12-year-old boy Friday morning in Parañaque as the victim was about to go to school.
The police identified the victim as Joshua Cancio, of Mindanao Street in Barangay Tambo, a student of San Agustin Catholic School in Parañaque.
Parañaque police chief Supt. Roland Estilles said four armed men in a blue Mitsubishi Adventure (MEL 334) blocked the path of Cancio's Honda Civic (WFR 456) car near the corner of MIA Road and Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard around 7 a.m.
Witnesses said the kidnappers surrounded the victim's car and ordered the driver to open the doors.
The kidnappers reportedly fired warning shots and broke the car's windows when the victim refused to go with them.
The kidnappers grabbed the victim from the passenger side of the car, forced him into the vehicle and fled in the direction of Manila.
The kidnapping followed two successful bank robberies and a failed bank heist in the city this month.
