Datumanong to stay on as DOJ chief until after Christmas

JUSTICE Sec. Simeon Datumanong said Monday he will stay in his post until after Christmas.

This, as Datumanong said he will push through with his plan to run for congressman in next year's elections.

Sources at the DOJ said Interior Sec. Jose Lina Jr. will replace Datumanong following a minor feud in the past between two DOJ undersecretaries over who was acting secretary was Datumanong was abroad several weeks ago.

Datumanong is the second official to leave President Arroyo's Cabinet to run for public office next year. Trade Sec Mar Roxas III resigned earlier to prepare for his senatorial bid. Benjamin B. Pulta
