Renee Salud's golden touch on 'Maalaala Mo Kaya'

WHAT is it about famed fashion designer Renee Salud that gave him a golden touch in developing beauty queens out of some of the country's most beautiful women? This week, "Maalaala Mo Kaya" finds out the secret behind Salud's formidable career and incredible taste through the talents of acclaimed actor Romnick Sarmenta as Salud. Director Jeffrey Jeturian takes care of the episode's directorial duties through a script written by Gilbeys Sardea.

Over his lengthy career, Salud has made world-renowned beauty queens out of Melanie Marquez, Chat Silayan, Joyce Ann Burton and Desiree Verdadero. But while everyone is familiar with the stories of the glamorous "Mama Renee" and his fabulous life in fashion, Renee himself has rarely talked about the rags-to-riches story that has brought him to his current status as one of the Philippines' premier style experts.

Sarmenta puts his versatility on display in his role as the episode follows Renee from his high school days, to the early days of his first shop in Dapitan, where he and friends Ricky Reyes (Mel Martinez), Fanny Serrano (Justine Cuyugan) and Jun Encarnacion (Gino Paul Guzman) dreamt of succeeding in their respective endeavors and on to his current stature as a top fashion authority.

Top character actors Daria Ramirez, Nanding Josef and Irma Adlawan also co-star. Know the secrets behind the success of Salud on ABS-CBN's "Maalaala Mo Kaya" Thursday. PR
