Best of Central Luzon showcase opens
THE month-long Best of Central Luzon showcase, a joint government and private sector project that aims to promote tourism in Central Luzon, begins Tuesday at the Plaza Luisita complex in Tarlac.
Northern Luzon Military Command (Nolcom) chief Romeo Dominguez assured the safety and security of Tarlaqueños and all those who will go to the plaza from June 1 to 30 for the showcase.
Together with the PNP, Lieutenant General Dominguez said they will ensure that the affair will not be disrupted by any terrorist group that would tend to embarrass not just the project organizers but the entire government in its attempt to promote Central Luzon as a major travel destination in the country.
The project, which attempts to localize the "Best of Regions" staged last year in Intramuros, is meant to create public awareness of the wealth of wonders, products, art and crafts in Central Luzon.
National and local government officials, businessmen and tourists are expected to attend Tuesday's kick-off rites. JFF
