Thursday, August 26, 2004 Meet the Tad Jock' final 3
AFTER weeks of proving their worth, it's come down to the final moment of truth for the last three finalists of the "Tad Jock Quest" of "Wazzup Wazzup". The last three "Wazzup Wazzup Questionables" are KC Reyes, JC Cuadrado and Robby David.
Showbiz runs in KC Reyes's blood - his grandmother is vintage actress Delia Razon - but he never thought of giving showbiz a chance until he heard of the "Tad Jock Quest". From the minute this De la Salle University (DLSU) grad came to the auditions at the ABS-CBN studios and until today, he's very appreciative of the training he's received.
"And of course, there's this sense of accomplishment, a sense of pride, because I was able to make it this far when I didn't really expect it," says KC, who also sees himself as a game show host in the future. "I'm the typical VJ-host type, but I also have my "flip" side. I'd have to admit I'm not really the class clown, so this whole experience has really helped see what I can do when the cameras are on."
For JC Cuadrado, entering the "Tad Jock Quest" allows him to indulge his competitive side. "A friend told me there were auditions and told me to tag along, and since there was really nothing to lose, I said yes," says JC, currently working on his Entrepreneurial Management degree from the University of Asia and the Pacific (UAP). "Then I got to the audition, and seeing how seriously people took it, I decided to give it my best shot. I'm happy the producers liked what they saw, but now, the game is really under way, and it's getting played hard. I've got two formidable competitors here, so I'm excited, and nervous at the same time. Because the more I think about it, the more I want to win this thing."
Getting out of his shell has been the biggest benefit for Robby David alias "The "Misfit Tadjock." "I'm really the quiet, shy, reserved type, although if you get to know me, there's a kalog (wacky) side to me, too," says this Asia Pacific College student. "It's just interesting how I'm starting to be kalog in front of our whole 'Wazzup Wazzup' audience. At this point, I just feel lucky. And blessed. I never expected to be in the top three and now that I'm here, I'll just give it my all and have fun with it."
