Cop's daughter shot self dead
A YOUNG woman, who is a policeman's daughter, shot herself dead inside her room in Quezon City Friday night.
The suicide, identified as Kennith Ian Carpio, 22, of 39 Lazaro Subdivision, Damong Maliit, Barangay Nagkaisang Nayon, Novaliches, Quezon City, succumbed to three gunshot wounds in the abdomen.
Carpio's body was discovered by her father Inspector Edgardo Carpio of the Western Police District (WPD) and other members of the family.
Supt. Procopio Lipana, chief of Central Police District-Criminal Investigation Unit said Carpio committed a suicide at around 11:30 p.m.
Report said members of the Carpio family were asleep when they heard three successive gunfire coming from Kennith's room.
Since the door was locked, the family resorted to destroy it until they saw the bloodied body of Kennith.
The Carpio family said they rushed Kennith to the Bernardino General Hospital based in Novaliches where the latter died later.
Police investigators have yet to determine whether Carpio used the service firearm of his father in shooting herself dead. A motive in the suicide was likewise still unknown as of press time. (Jonathan F. Fernandez) |
