First RP-Korea business forum held November 8

* Focus is on trade and investment

THE Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) and the Korean Chamber of Commerce Philippines (KCCP) will hold the First Philippines-Korea Business Forum on November 8 at the Grand Ballroom of the Intercontinental Hotel in Makati City.

The forum will kick off at 9 a.m. and end at 6 p.m.

Coinciding with the Forum is the 20th Annual Joint Meeting of the Philippines-Korea Economic Council (Philkorec) and the Korea-Philippines Economic Council (Korphilec).

The two economic councils will discuss trade and investment opportunities as well as other avenues of cooperation between the Philippines and Korea.

In line with the economic agenda of President Arroyo, the one-day business event will focus on major issues that aim to promote and stimulate economic activities such as Free Trade Agreement, Information Technology/Venture Capital, education, regular and medical Tourism and understanding Philippine-Korean culture.

House Speaker Jose de Venecia is the Guest of Honor and keynote speaker. Also invited is Hon. Romulo Neri, Socio-Economic Planning secretary and National Economic & Development Authority director general. He will talk about issues and opportunities between the Philippines and Korea.

Aside from plenary sessions, the forum will feature Business Matching Sessions to enable participants to expand their network of contacts and forge business partnerships.

The sessions provide prospective partners a venue to personally meet and discuss business proposals in detail.

About 300 high level Philippine and Korean businessmen are expected to actively participate in the Business Forum.
