ABS-CBN takes 5 nominations in Asian TV awards

ABS-CBN's value-laden, star-studded programs were again hailed as Asia's finest as the prestigious Asian TV Awards (ATV), Asia's premier television awards program, published its short-list of nominations. This year, ABS-CBN has racked up a total of 5 nominations in the short-listed programs.

For its world-class, multi-million peso staging of the first-ever Philippine performance of the acclaimed Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli in "Andrea Bocelli Live in Manila", ABS-CBN received a nomination for Best Entertainment Special.
The touching reunions of adopted children with their biological families earned ABS-CBN's "Lukso ng Dugo" (international title: "Blood Ties") a nomination for Best Reality Program.

ABS-CBN's groundbreaking documentary-drama "Nginiiig!" ("Shivers") gained yet more fans across the region with its nomination for Best Docu-Drama.

Boy Abunda's feature on model/political scion Borgy Manotoc gave the multi-awarded television host and his home network an Asian TV nomination for Best Talk Show for "Private Conversations with Boy Abunda".

And finally, consistent Asian TV winner Eula Valdez again scores a bulls-eye in this year's "Maalaala Mo Kaya" ("Remembering") episode "Eatery," which earned her another Best Drama Performance by an Actress nomination for this season.

ABS-CBN programs have repeatedly won big from many of the broadcasting industry's most respected award-giving bodies this year, from the Star Awards for Television to the KBP Golden Dove Awards and the Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA). The winners of the 2004 Asian TV Awards will be proclaimed on Dec. 2, 2004. (PR)
