Int'l confab on health care delivery system set
OFFICIALS of Manila, the municipality of Plasencia in Spain and the region of Tuscany and Pisa in Italy will share their respective health care system improvement project to participants of an international conference on health care improvement in Manila scheduled on November 18 and 19.
Dubbed as "Enhancement of health care services in a devolved health care system: A regional sharing of experiences" the conference will be held at the Century Park Hotel in Manila.
The opening remarks will be delivered by Manila Mayor Lito Atienza, whose city
received funding from Asia Urbs for a pilot project on the improvement of delivery of health care system for marginalized mothers and children.
Asia Urbs is the main funding line of the European Union (EU). The project is also co-financed by the province of Pisa, Italy; municipality of Plasencia, Spain; region of Tuscany, Italy; and Arci Cultura e Sviluppo, Southeast Asia. Manola Guazzini, councilor for social welfare and equal opportunities of the Provincial Government of Pisa will also deliver a message as representative of the Pisa Government.
Aside from case studies, lectures on referral system, medical equipment management and barangay health volunteers will also be delivered by Manila city health officials. The topics are the main components of the Manila project.
During the event, Asia Urbs will also launch new publications and tool for end-users on medical equipment management and referral system. Participants will also be given an opportunity to discuss and share experiences on health care delivery system.
