Last call for entries to Smart Cuts competition
SMART Cuts, the 60-second short digital film competition of .MOV International Digital Film Festival, will accept entries only until November 5.
The newly launched contest, organized by independent production company Filmless Films Inc. and sponsored by leading wireless services provider Smart Communications Inc., admits digital film entries of all genres and strictly 60 seconds in length.
All entries should be submitted in VHS, VCD, or DVD format with a duly accomplished entry form at the Filmless Films office, Unit 1817 Herrera Tower, 98 Herrera corner Valero Streets, Salcedo Village, Makati City.
Submissions will be judged regardless of genre, production quality and budget. The first prize winner will take home P30,000 in cash while the second and third placers will receive P20,000 and P10,000 respectively. Awarding will be held on December 4 at 7 p.m. at SM City Cebu.
Shortlisting of entries will start on November 22. The top 10 entries will be chosen and notified through their contact details and registered mail beginning November 26.
As part of the promotion, the finalists will be shown before the start of each regular screening in all cinemas at SM City Cebu seven days before the .MOV festival. The finalists will also be included in the .MOV film catalogue containing synopses and contact addresses for the contributions. The actual festival will be held from December 1 to 7 at the venue.
Smart Communications Inc. reserves the right to distribute and use, edit, enhance and advertise the film entries in any manner it deems tasteful and necessary in cross-media (Internet, MMS downloads, TV, radio, print and live events) endeavors to promote and market digital filmmaking in the Philippines and abroad. Smart and Filmless Films Inc. employees, up to their second degree of consanguinity, are disqualified from joining the competition.
Aside from Smart Cuts, the other featured categories in .MOV are Digital World (World Digital Features), Digital Sea (Southeast Asian Digital Features), Digital Indio (Philippine Digital Features), and Silvershorts, an independent short film competition.
