Florida, San Juan to meet in championship of cage tilt

Games on November 12 (San Juan Gym)
1:30 p.m. - Aquinas vs. Phil. Chen Kuang (for 3rd)
3 p.m. - San Juan Nat'l. High vs. Florida Institute (championship)

FLORIDA Institute and San Juan National High School quickly disposed of their respective foes to arrange a finals showdown in the 4th San Juan Inter-High School basketball tournament at the San Juan Gym on November 12.

Florida Institute, drawing 26 points from rookie Hanzel Webb, rebounded from a slow start to beat Aquinas School, 83-70.

San Juan National High School, spearheaded by a vengeful Ariel Medina, routed Philippine Chen Kuang High, 83-50. Florida Institute and San Juan National High class in the one-game final.

Florida Institute was held to only three points in the first quarter and even trailed, 49-55 at the end of the third when Webb came to the rescue to bail his team out.

Medina was fired up by the fact that he can no longer make it to the Mythical Five of the tournament after being thrown out in their last game at the end of the elimination round.
