RP, Argentina biz chambers to strengthen ties
TO BOLSTER the economic structure of both nations, the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) and the Argentine Chamber of Commerce for South-East Asia (Accsea) will reinforce economic relations by signing a cooperation agreement on October 27 at 1 p.m. at the boardroom of the PCCI office in Makati City.
The agreement is expected to further deepen the Philippines and Argentina's economic relationship. The partnership focuses on building and cultivating strong and closer collaboration between the people and business communities of the two countries.
The two chambers are committed to jointly undertake numerous promotional activities such as the holding of business missions, participation in trade fairs and other related undertakings to carry out key provisions of the agreement.
Argentina is the country's 27th trading partner, 64th export market and 24th import source.
The country's top exports to Argentine are machinery for the manufacture of sugar confectionery; men's wear; steel belted automobile tires; finished electrical and electronic machinery and parts; and seaweeds and algae.
On the other hand, our imports include oil cake and other solid residues from soya beans; soya beans; plates, sheets, film, foil and strip of polymer of ethyne gelatin (edible); and unmanufactured tobacco.
PCCI president Donald Dee will sign the agreement in behalf of PCCI while Ernesto Fernandez Taboada, executive director of Accsea will sign for his group. Argentine Ambassador Mario Schuff will witness the signing. (Press release)
