Masteral, doctorate scholarships offered
SCOLARSHIPS are available for doing graduate studies in advanced science and technology (S&T) fields.
The Philippine Council for Advanced Science and Technology Research and
Development (PCASTRD) of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) is offering scholarships for Masters of Science and Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy) degrees in the following fields: Biology and related fields (biotechnology, molecular biology, genetics, microbiology), Chemistry/Biochemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Earth Science/Remote Sensing, Materials Science and Microelectronics.
Scholars should be accepted in any of PCASTRD-accredited graduate schools, namely, University of the Philippines-Diliman, University of the Philippines at
Los Baños, University of Santo Tomas, De La Salle University, Ateneo de
Manila University and Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology.
The applicant, who must be a Filipino citizen and not more than 40 years old, should be a degree holder (B.S./M.S) in any natural sciences or engineering course relevant to the intended field of study, with a grade point average not lower than 80 or its equivalent and must be in good health. He/she also must not have availed of a PCASTRD scholarship grant for the same degree nor have any existing scholarship grant.
Scholarship grantees shall enjoy the following benefits: tuition and other school fees, book allowance, monthly stipend, thesis/dissertation allowance, accident insurance for the duration of the scholarship and allowance for graduation expenses.
Application forms for scholarship grants can be accomplished online. Deadline for application is April 15, 2005.
