Darts Philippine Cup set in Baguio
THE country's best darters will be shooting for the overall title at stake when the Darts Council of the Philippines (DCP), in cooperation with the Baguio Darts Association Inc. (BDAI), stages the Philippine Cup Team championship on March 24 to 26 at the Cozy Nook along Magsaysay Avenue in Baguio City.
The Philippine Cup is a national tournament organized by the DCP - the only governing body for darts in the country and supported by BDAI, Toby's Sports, Winmau Darts, Terton Craft, and Cozy Nook.
More important than the title, cash and awards at stake, the tournament's singles event is a DCP rating and ranking event in which top placers will also qualify for the national pool from where the DCP will select members of the Philippines' official team to the Asia Pacific Cup 2006 to be held in Singapore sometime in September.
The tournament will kick off with the Cocoy David's Cup, a beginners/non-rated singles event on the opening day at 6 p.m. (game time). The PhilCup Team (maximum of two rated players per team) competitions in the four-man team, doubles and singles for the men and women divisions will be played on March 25 starting at 10 a.m. Registration starts an hour before game time.
PhilCup participants will be given DCP ID cards valid up to Dec. 31, 2006 free of charge. For more inquiries, contact BDAI at mobile number 0915 4414306 or the DCP secretariat at mobile number 0917 9975263. (Press release)
