Studio 23 presents miniseries, family shows marathon for Holy Week
STUDIO 23 continues its Holy Week tradition of presenting thought-provoking Holy Week viewing as it rolls out its lineup of shows for Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Black Saturday.
Studio 23's Maundy Thursday programming highlights include "Moments with the Lord" with Father Jerry Orbos SVD at 10 a.m., a nine-episode marathon of the acclaimed, award-winning "Gilmore Girls" beginning at 11 a.m., another marathon airing of the epic miniseries "Dinotopia" starring Golden Globe nominee Wentworth Miller at 6:50 p.m., followed by the Michael Douglas - Melanie Griffith World War II melodrama "Shining Through".
Studio 23 will also air a primetime telecast of "The Amazing Race" on Maundy Thursday at 6 p.m., slightly earlier than its regularly-scheduled primetime airing.
Ka-barkada fare for Good Friday begins with the second part of Father Orbos' "Moments with the Lord" at 11 a.m. It will be followed by the traditional "7th Heaven" marathon at 12 p.m., back-to-back documentary presentations of "Bible Code: Predicting Armageddon", "Bible Code: Apocalypse" and "Beyond Holy Secrets: Electing a Pope" at 5 p.m., 5:50 p.m. and 6:45 p.m., respectively. Finally, the classic Cecil B. deMille film "The Ten Commandments" casts its spell at 7:30 p.m.
Studio 23's Black Saturday programming highlights include a 12-episode marathon of "7th Heaven" starting at 12 p.m. and a primetime airing of "Survivor Panama: Exile Island" at 8 p.m. Two back-to-back films follow on "Studio 23 Presents", with the live-action version of "Pinnocchio" starring Roberto Benigni at 8:50 p.m. and the acclaimed historical drama "Elizabeth" starring Cate Blanchett, Geoffrey Rush and Christopher Eccleston at 10:30 p.m.
Studio 23 returns to regularly scheduled programming on Easter Sunday. (Press release)
