Gov't, Moro group still deadlocked on ancestral domain issue
MALACANANG on Friday said the government and Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) panels have not reached a common ground on the ancestral domain agenda.
Government panel chairman Silvestre Afable Jr., through Press Secretary Ignacio Bunye, said there is a continuous impasse on the territorial issue "but the talks did not break down."
"According to him (Afable), his panel will go back to the drawing board in consultation with some Cabinet members to map out a fresh proposal to be tabled for the negotiations. He acknowledges the difficulties involved but is confident these can be surmounted," added Bunye, who is also Presidential spokesman.
Reports said both panels, which met in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia for back-channel talks, would report back and consult their superiors on the next actions that they would take. (JMR/Sunnex)
