Free skills demonstration to prepare ‘wannabe entrepreneurs’ set

THE upcoming “Pamasko Ni Kuya”, one of the biggest pre-Christmas selling bazaar that features the best Filipino products, will have skills demos for free.

The event, which is already on its 10th year, is set on September 21 to 24 at the Megatrade Hall 2 in SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City.

Various skills training in holiday goodies making, basic beadworks, flower arrangements for wedding and center-pieces, holiday decors, scrap-booking and stuffed toy making among others, will be demonstrated during the 4-day event.

Dennis Orlina, board of director of the Philippine Chamber of Handicraft Industries Inc. (PCHI), said “the series of skills demonstration would encourage Filipinos particularly housewives and students to venture into small business in the coming holiday season.”

“New opportunities will be created for the people, developing new entrepreneurs that would contribute to employment generation and economic growth,” Orlina added.

Resource persons for the skills demonstrations come from the Cottage Industry Technology Center (CITC). Organizers of the main event are PCHI and the Market Encounter Goes to Manila (Memga) Foundation.

Interested participants may pre-register with the PCHI Secretariat at telephone number 638-7926; fax number 747-1865; email: pchi@globelines.com.ph and pchi@pchi.com.ph or visit its website at www.pchi.com.ph. (Salvio L. Valenzuela Jr./Philexport News and Features/Sunnex)
