Friday, September 22, 2006 Travelers pick Oceania's best hotels
LEADING online accommodation specialist HotelClub (www.HotelClub.com) launched the inaugural edition of the Australia and New Zealand's Best Hotels and Resorts (including the Pacific Islands).
The accommodation guidebook is based on customers' genuine opinions of hotels and resorts throughout the Oceania region, and features 300 hotels from eight countries. This follows the highly successful first two editions of Asia's Best Hotels and Resorts Guidebook.
The guidebook is available for pre-sale via www.hotelclub.com/anzguidebook from today for US$18.95 - a saving of US$6! With every guidebook purchased, readers will receive an immediate benefit of a HotelClub Membership Card with US$20 member dollars to use towards their desired hotel from the guidebook or any other of the 21,000 hotels offered by HotelClub.
From over 74,000 consumer votes for over 2,200 hotels, Australia and New Zealand's Best Hotels and Resorts (including the Pacific Islands), showcases the 300 Best Hotels as voted by consumers worldwide. From islands resorts to city hotels and regional gems, the guidebook delivers a unique and independent read for those in search of a great hotel for business or pleasure. Each hotel's listing comes with a price guide and is rated for ambience, cleanliness, facilities, family friendliness, location, restaurants, staff attitude and value for money. All hotels are grouped alphabetically by destination with easy reference indexes that help you locate the hotel that best meets consumers' needs.
For Malaysian visitors, Australia and New Zealand are relatively close neighbors.
Malaysia ranks eighth in the Top 10 Visitor Numbers to Australia and ninth in terms of visitor nights. For New Zealand, Malaysian visitors ranked 13th in visitor arrivals. Based on bookings made with HotelClub.com to Australia and New Zealand from Malaysian customers, Malaysia is ranked 11th and 15th for bookings made to Australia and New Zealand.
Australia and New Zealand's Best Hotels and Resorts (including the Pacific Islands) is the culmination of twelve months research by HotelClub. As part of an online survey last year, over 74,000 nominations were received from customers in 170 countries for 2,200 hotels and resorts. The editors and independent hotel inspectors collated comments and scores to select the most popular choices, and a team of expert travel writers subsequently researched and compiled the entries. Australia and New Zealand's Best Hotels and Resorts (including the Pacific Islands) is the third guidebook produced in the series, following on from two highly successful editions of Asia's Best Hotels and Resorts.
Chloe Lim, director of global marketing and publisher, HotelClub, said: "This is the first publication to cover accommodation choices throughout the Oceania region and reflects true consumer choice! Due to the popularity of Asia's Best Hotels and Resorts and demand for a truly unique guide to cover the Oceanic region, we launched Australia and New Zealand's Best Hotels & Resorts (including the Pacific Islands). To find an outstanding hotel can be challenging sometimes. The best source of information comes from someone who has actually been there - tried the beds, sampled the food and been served by the staff. This inaugural guide is just that, and it features everything from famous and iconic properties such as Hayman Island to some stylish boutique hotels like the Kirketon in Sydney to the island resorts of the Pacific Islands such as Matamanoa Fiji."
Published in association with Insight Guides, the 320-page guide includes an overview for each of the eight countries, and each hotel is rated on eight criteria including ambience, value for money, staff attitude, family friendliness and dining options. All the entries are cross-referenced with supporting indexes to help readers select the hotel or resort that best meets their needs. Maps highlight each hotel's location and over 1,000 full-color photographs vividly convey their ambience.
Australia and New Zealand's Best Hotels and Resorts guide can be purchased online at www.hotelclub.com/anzguidebook for US$18.95 (pre-sale until 1 October 2006) or will be available in most major bookstores from Oct. 15, 2006.
HotelClub also recognized the top three hotels in each state of Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands in a gala award ceremony in May 2006. These hotels were awarded 'Winner' status by the consumers who voted for them. (Press release)
