San Juan High, Chen Kuang maintain lead in cage tilt
SAN Juan National High School and Philippine Chen Kuang High posted contrasting victories to remain on top of the standings in the fifth San Juan Inter-High School basketball tournament at the San Juan Gym.
The defending champion, San Juan National High, routed newcomer Camp Crame High School, 87-49 while Phil. Chen Kuang encountered difficulty before putting Aquinas School away, 56-53 for their second straight win in the tournament organized by former sports commissioner now San Juan Vice Mayor Leonardo "Boy" Celles.
In the other game, St. John's Academy rebounded from an opening day loss by manhandling Fountain International School, 82-8.
Lawrence Albert Lagumen fired 21 points for St. John's Academy while Angelo Sunga and Julius Andrew Tarrobal had 15 and 10 points respectively.
