Buy Pinoy fair to showcase export bestsellers
FRESH and processed food, holiday and home decors, gifts, toys, stationeries, arts and crafts, garden items, costume jewelry, fashion accessories, bed and bath linens, houseware, and furniture and home furnishings from about 150 manufacturers are just some of the export items that will be available to Christmas shoppers.
Through the semi-annual Buy Pinoy Exporters Fair, the products that are otherwise available only to foreign buyers will be sold to the public from November 30 to December 3 at the Megatrade Hall 2 of SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City.
The fair, dubbed as “World-class Philippine Products for Filipino Buyers”, hopes to instill among local consumers the habit of buying Philippine-made items. Now on its 11th run, the fair also aims to continue to promote among our countrymen our globally competitive Philippine products, the same products that are admired and bought by the best and most famous stores in the world. The additional domestic market is also hoped to provide more jobs for our fellowmen under the “Buy Pinoy, Save Jobs” philosophy of the Buy Pinoy Movement of which the Philippine Exporters Confederation (Philexport) Inc. is a committed partner-organization.
The 11th Buy Pinoy will have Region 3 as its Region Partner to showcase the various raw materials, finished goods and regional capacity of manufacturers in this area.
Organizers of this bi-annual trade show are the Holiday Decors and Giftware, and Food Sectors under the Philexport in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) through the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (Citem) and the Federation of Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Inc. (FFCCCII). The Philippine Export Import (PhilExim) is one of the major sponsors. Proceeds of the fair will be used for development programs and activities to strengthen the SME sector, especially the exporters.
