Cinemanila 2006 opening night: A certified box-office hit
The 1000 plus-seater Center Stage Cinema of the SM Mall of Asia was literally filled to the rafters when the 8th Cinemanila International Film Festival held the screening of the Gael Garcia Bernal starrer "Science of Sleep" for its official opening last November 3.
With this success, Cinemanila proves once again the strength of its affinity with the Filipino audience who, for eight years now, have come to rely on Cinemanila as their source of the best films, not just from Hollywood but from all over the world.
Cinemanila continues to run its twin main sections - International and Digital Lokal at Greenbelt and the SM Digital Cinemas until November 15.
Cinemanila is a joint initiative of the Film Development Council of the Philippines, the Independent Cinema Association of the Philippines and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts in cooperation with the Office of the President, the Department of Tourism, Cinema One, NU 107, TBWA, Manila Bulletin, Click the City, Bigfoot Entertainment, Yehey.com, Boysen, the Embassy of France, Ignite Media, Scenema Concepts International and Asus.
