Holiday on November 30 moved to December 1

PRESIDENT Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has declared November 30, Bonifacio Day, which falls on a Thursday, as a regular working day and December 1, a Friday, as a non-working holiday.

Arroyo, in signing Proclamation 1169 last November 10, also declared December 26, a Tuesday and a day after Christmas, as a non-working day.

The President said while November 30 would be a regular working day, all activities and celebrations in observance of Bonifacio Day would still be held on that day.

She also instructed the Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) to issue the appropriate guidelines on the implementation of the proclamation order.

Arroyo said the declarations of non-working day aims to provide Filipinos more time to spend with their families or visit relatives and give those who would travel to provinces a longer period to return home or to their workplace in time for the resumption of work. (JMR/Sunnex)
