Tuloy ang Pag-aaral ng mga Bata project lauded
EDUCATION Secretary Jesli Lapus expressed gratitude to various entities that supported the department's Tuloy ang Pag-aaral ng mga Bata project.
"We are very happy with the turnout for our Tuloy ang Pag-aaral ng mga Bata project," Lapus said. "We thank all those who have contributed to this effort. Their generosity has surely touched the lives of many of our underprivileged students," he added.
The project provided relief goods to over two million children in Albay, Catanduanes, Sorsogon, Camarines Sur, Masbate, Marinduque, Mindoro, Romblon, Aklan, Antique, Guimaras, Leyte and Eastern Samar, which were struck by strong typhoons late last year.
A number of private individuals, companies, schools and schools division offices have given their donations in cash and in kind to the department for distribution in affected areas.
"We acknowledge the significant role of the community in our goal ensuring the welfare of students in our schools and we are glad that many individuals and groups came out to help us in this undertaking," Lapus added.
Meanwhile, classroom repair and improvement efforts of the department in typhoon-affected areas remain in full swing, as exhibited by The Department of Education's recently released P600,000 funding for the immediate rehabilitation of six classrooms in Mahabang Parang Elementary School in Naujan, Mindoro Oriental.
The education department continues to accept donations for its Tuloy ang Pag-aaral ng mga Bata project.
