Darts body set to choose RP team members
THE race for slots on the national team to the World Darts Federation (WDF) World Cup hits fever pitch when 16 male and eight female darters go through a multiple round elimination rounds Saturday and Sunday at the Pearl Plaza mall in Parañaque City.

Seeking berths in the elimination series that begins at 10:30 a.m. Saturday are Lorenz Ilagan, Arvy Briones, Mon Sabalboro, Ding Sumulong, Robert Reyes, Toto Andrade, Dhoe Macasaquit, Arnel Orteza, Ricky Santiago, Pipo Garcia, Gilbert Noble, Dixie Ybanez, Dodong Nollora, Henry Suerto, Art Longyapon, Andy Villamor and Caloy Niepes.
Qualifiers in the women's division are Cora Mercado, Ann Madrid, Leonor Lumabi, Rose Noble, Ann-Ann Awitan, Lani Tac-an, Relyn Tagam and Clariz Sarmiento.
The WDF World Cup 2007 will be held in Switzerland from October 10 to 14. Only four male and two female darters will compose the national team.
"The tough elimination rounds will certainly ensure that the Philippines will be able to send its best team to the World cup," said Darts Council of the Philippines (DCP) president Andrew L. Arrieta.
