Wednesday, April 11, 2007 Gaming firm aims for 4.5M subscribers
THE leading network gaming firm IPVG is optimistic that it would be able to get at least 4.5 million subscribers for its subsidiary-E-Games.com.ph this year.
IPVG chief executive officer Enrique Gonzales said they have already 2.6 million registered users out of the 4.9 million network gaming market in 2006.
E-Games is the provider of RAN Online, Dreamville, Battle Position and casual games Supreme Destiny, Audition and O2Jam to the local gaming market.
Gonzales said they are also set to issue Granado Espada, the newest full 3D MMORPG worth US$56 million by Hakkyu Kim, producer of Ragnarok Online.
"Our subscribers will definitely have more AAA (top of the line) games to enjoy," he said.
Noting that gaming is expected to contribute a bigger share of the IPVG Group's revenue for 2007, Gonzales said E-Games would be offering every year more new and exciting games to maintain its 50- to 55-percent market share.
Although E-Games contributed only 30 percent to IPVG's P146.7 million revenue in 2006, Gonzales said they expect an increase in their income for this year.
"By next year, that figure will be the opposite, with E-Games contributing to half of our revenues and IP-Converge contributing 30 percent," he added. (MSN/Sunnex)
