TuTOK: Nexus takes place at the ground floor lobby of the Loyola House of Studies (LHS), Seminary Drive, Ateneo de Manila University, Loyola Heights in Quezon City from June 15 to July 20.
TuTOK is an initiative of visual artists focused on art and advocacy, and it presents its 7th exhibition event in cooperation with the Simbahang Lingkod ng Bayan (SLB), an association of religious, priests, seminarians and lay people committed to the service of the Filipino Church and the Filipino nation.
TuTOK: Nexus is curated by Jose Tence Ruiz and features installation works by Buen Calubayan, Mideo M. Cruz, Lyra Abueg Garcellano, the Ugat Lahi Artists' Collective, and Jose Tence Ruiz in collaboration with Danilo Ilag-Ilag.
Opening reception will be on Friday at 6:30 p.m., and will also be an occasion to celebrate the blessing of the SLB Office and the soft launching of its program called Citizenship by Good Example (CGE). Closing reception featuring live art performances will be on July 20 at 6:30 p.m.
To coincide with the exhibit, several public discussions have been scheduled in venues within the Ateneo campus, including an Artspeak or artist's talk by Jose Tence Ruiz and Kuwentong Bayan, a post-election situationer to be presented by SLB. The full schedule of these collateral events will be announced later. Viewing schedule at the LHS lobby is from Mondays to Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
