Beware of ‘Tyanaks’

THEY’RE more, they’re bigger, they’re scarier and they’re out to get you!

They are the tiyanaks, hungry little creatures on the lookout for whatever, or more precisely, whomever they can eat up. Books describe the tiyanak as a very sneaky monster. It disguises itself as a baby crying in the forest. And when you stop to pick up or attend to the baby, it grabs you with its sharp claws and gobbles you up on the spot!

Regal Entertainment brings back the tiyanak to the big screen like people have never seen it before. Instead of a little baby, it has grown up. That means it’s taller, it has bigger legs and longer arms and it has more energy to pursue its prey. Instead of just one, they are now three tiyanaks and they’re not just in the forest. They can fly in the air and swim in the water. And instead of only sharp claws, they have deadly teeth, more strength and more supernatural powers!

What’s more, these tiyanaks can cleverly disguise themselves like cute boys and girls and freely mingle with the rest of these people. So it’s very difficult to detect them. For all you know, you could already be sitting next to a tiyanak and not know it!

Such is the dilemma and the challenge faced by protagonist in “Tiyanaks,” a
new horror film from Regal Entertainment, the purveyor of heart-pounding and visually stunning horror pictures such as “Sigaw,” the classic “Shake, Rattle and Roll” series, and many more.

The story begins when a barkada gets lost en route to their retreat house. Strange things start happening. Their lives are suddenly put a risk. How will they escape the dreadful tiyanaks?

“Tiyanaks” features today’s biggest and brightest young stars in the cast. Fine actress Rica Peralejo is joined by the box-office tandem of Jennylyn Mercado and Mark Herras. Also in the cast are JC de Vera, Ryan Yllana, Jill Yulo, Alwyn Uytingco, Karel Marquez, Andrei Felix, TJ Trinidad, Mika dela Cruz, Nash Aguas, and Lotlot de Leon.

“Tiyanaks: will “visit” the theaters nationwide in July 4. (Press release)
