THE chief of the Quezon City Police District’s Station 8 in Project 4 died of a single gunshot wound on Saturday night, and police have launched a thorough investigation on the incident.

Garcia’s 15-year-old son, Jericho, told police investigators that prior to the killing, he saw his father went out of their house until he heard a gunshot.

Garcia was taken to the Malvar General Hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. He succumbed to a lone gunshot wound in the chest, police said.

Quezon City Police District Director Magtanggol Gatdula said they have launched a thorough investigation on the matter. He declined to give further details on the shooting.

Reports said Garcia started his career with the police force sometime in 1980 as a non-commissioned officer. He later entered the Philippine National Police Academy and graduated in 1984, which paved the way for his commissioning as an officer. (VR/Sunnex)
