Shell opens 1st retail station in Boracay

AS PART of its expansion plan, Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp. has opened its first retail service station in Boracay.

"The opening of our Boracay site is part of Shell’s investment into the Philippines as an expression of our confidence in the local market. It is also part of our continuing effort and commitment to bring the best quality fuels to more Filipino consumers, thus helping them go even further with their fuel," said Sammy de Guzman, vice president for Shell Retail Philippines.

According to de Guzman, the opening of its retail station in Boracay is an indication of their commitment to help boost the domestic economy as well as to ensure that the island to be the top destinations of tourist in the country.

The Shell Boracay Service Station is located at Sitio Angol, Barangay Manoc-Manoc, Oracay, and Aklan.

He added that Boracay consumers will also experience more convenience, safer and affordable access to the fuels used for their everyday needs using "Green Fuel System."

The Boracay service station is similarly equipped with double-walled fiber glass tanks and pipelines. The site is fitted with a continuous monitoring system which is armed to detect leaks within the wall of the facilities.

Shell Boracay now carries the Shell’s new look and visual identity, which likewise carries along with it added benefits for the environment.

"We are extremely excited to make our global commitment and heritage relevant for the everyday Filipino motorist. With the opening of Shell Boracay, we are not only helping our professional motorists go further, but we are also helping the entire island progress even further," said Randy del Valle, district manager.

De Guzman said Shell is set to build 50 additional service stations this year. (MSN/Sunnex)
