Saturday, April 12, 2008 Arroyo undergoes health check anew
PRESIDENT Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo underwent a quick routine check-up at the St. Luke's Medical Center in Quezon City Friday noon, squeezing the "long delayed" health check in between engagements out of Malacañang.
Press Secretary Ignacio Bunye said Arroyo stayed at the hospital for about 30 minutes to undergo health check-up.
"It was a regularly scheduled check-up and long delayed check-up. She couldn't go because of her frequent out of town trips," he said.
Arroyo, who last underwent check-up in October 2007, squeezed the trip to St. Luke's between the opening of the 11,000th Botika ng Barangay in Taguig City at 10 a.m. Friday and her visit at the National Bureau of Investigations (NBI) main office in Manila at 2:30 p.m.
Presidential Security Group chief Romeo Prestoza assured that Arroyo is all right nor is she feeling any ailment adding that she had been able to attend her appointments including those outside the Palace.
The President on October 2, 2007 made a quick trip to the Asian Hospital in Muntinlupa City, two days before her five-day trip to China and India then.
Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita explained then that Arroyo simply wants to ensure that she is fit to travel.
Arroyo in 2006 had been confined at St. Luke's thrice. The first was in May for diarrhea followed by flu in July and another in November to undergo a complete executive check-up. (JMR/Sunnex)
