'ITALY' cast enjoys filming in Europe

COMING home as they departed to Europe last April 2 for the shooting of "ITALY (I Trust and Love You)" by GMA films, actress Jolina Magdangal shared the experiences of the cast of the movie last Tuesday.

"ITALY" is a heart warming, light movie about destiny and the lives of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).

The cast of the movie had their shooting in a luxury cruise Costa Magica that sailed along places like Milan, Genoa, Rome, Savona, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Naples, and Tunisia. The cast also shot some of their scenes in Venice and Spain.

Directed by one of the most talented directors in the country, Mark Reyes successfully squeezed out the best performance of the powerhouse cast of the movie, namely, Dennis Trillo, Jolina, Eugene Domingo, Rufa Mae Quinto, Rhian Ramos, and Mark Herras.

The movie was supposed to be a comeback movie of Gabby Concepcion but he backed out from the film when he arrived here in Manila. The role of Gabby was then given to Dennis as he was chosen as the second choice for the character. Dennis, meanwhile, warmly accepted the role expressing enthusiasm on the role that he will be playing.

Dennis regarded the replacement as an honor as he also pressured by public expectations considering Gabby was originally chosen for the role.

Meanwhile, the heads of the productions are confident that Dennis could articulate the role as he is considered as one of the good actors in television and movie today.

It is also the first time that Jolina and Dennis would work in a big screen together.

During last Tuesday's interview with Jolina, she gleefully said they had not experienced difficulty coping with people in Europe as they were guided by some Filipinos there.

She also said one of the passengers of the luxury ship even mistakenly thought that she was really a cabin crew on one of her scenes.

Other co-stars Mark Herras who played as a cabin crew and Rhian Ramos said they had enjoyed their cruise in Europe and felt comfortable in doing their movie because of the warm acceptance of the people.

All of the stars were overwhelmed by the opportunity that the production gave them. It was the first cruise ship film by GMA Network films and most of the experiences of the cast were also first time so they were all really excited.

To execute their acts well, Jolina, Eugene and Mark in preparation for their role as cabin crew, also undertook training in a culinary school. (JRDB/Sunnex)
