Dingdong, Marian back in Manila from 'Dyesebel' shoot in Palawan

AFTER a weeklong shooting of the new fantasy series of the GMA 7 primetime show "Dyesebel", Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera are back in Manila from Coron, Palawan where they shot the underwater scenes of the series.

In an interview with Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP), Dingdong said they had a wonderful experience in the place and both he and Marian enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the island.

Dingdong said he admired the patience and professionalism that leading-lady Marian Rivera had showed not hearing any reservations from the actress.

He added that from the time the production started shooting at eight in the morning, Marian stayed underwater until sundown. The only time the actress alighted from the ocean was during eating time.

Marian, in a separate interview, said she expected her stunts and role to be difficult but she had prepared herself for it, physically and mentally.

She also said she has no hesitations to go topless as the role calls for it adding that it is normal for a mermaid without top garments only fins and long wavy hair.

Dingdong, meanwhile, does not expect that people would patronize the famous fantasy novel of Mars Ravelo just like viewers did in "Marimar", saying he just want to go things the way they are so that there will be no pressure on his part.

He added that his role in "Dyesebel" as Fredo which played by Richard Gomez in Alice Dixson's version of the novel and Matthew Mendoza for Charlene Gonzales's version, is much more different from his serious character in "Marimar".

Dingdong said they cheerfully played their roles not like the serious roles in "Marimar" series. The scenes in "Dyesebel" are lighter but still should be played realistically to win the attention of the viewers.

"Dyesebel" will soon be viewed in the primetime show of GMA 7. It is the second time Marian and Dingdong partnered in a primetime show as some said this will be also the last time for the two to share same show together. (JRDB/Sunnex)
