Thursday, April 24, 2008 Jay-Z, Beyonce finally tie the knot
TWO of the most successful artists in the US industry, singer actress Beyonce Knowles (26) and R&B hip hop magnate Jay-Z (38) -- real name Shawn Carter, are officially married based on reports at Usmagazine.com.
The two finally tied the knot at the rapper's apartment in NYC's Tribeca neighborhood last April 4.
Based on website, on April 1, the couple "applied for a marriage license" quoted from Scarsdale Town Clerk Donna Conkling.
"They were very low-key and weren't dressed up," Conkling said in an interview adding that the two "did not have a large entourage."
"The couple took the license home that day" she said as the couple signed the documents and mailed it in after the ceremony last April 4. "We received it back on Friday," she said.
Among the guests of the two phenomenal singers were former Destiny's Child singers Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, Kanye West, and the couple Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin.
Also present in the very special private wedding of the two were Beyonce's father -- Mathew Knowles -- who had been very vocal on his happiness if her daughter marries Jay-Z as quoted in his interview "I really like Jay-Z. He's a really nice guy. I would only be happy for her (Beyonce)." He added that he will be thrilled if Jay-Z would marry her daughter Beyonce.
Beyonce sister Solange and Jay-Z's mother Gloria Carter were also present at the wedding.
As described at the usmagazine.com report, "the singer (Beyonce) donned a veil and a white dress with a low V-neck and thick straps. Her hair was in a half ponytail with ringlet curls, decorated with a white flower."
It added that early Friday of April 4 "white checked linens were delivered, as well as boxes of white flowers" at penthouse apartment of the rapper adding that, "Tall silver candelabras were stacked on the street. A white tent was visible on the roof of the building."
Knowles and Jay-Z has been dating for six years since 2002.
The couple until now has no all-inclusive details and announcements about their private, simple yet elegant wedding in Manhattan. (JRDB/Sunnex)
