Diet ignores death threats; confirms break-up with partner

DESPITE his busy schedules in doing television series, Diether "Diet" Ocampo said he is receiving death threats from unknown people.

It was said that the issue of the alleged threats was first written in Pinoy Paparazzi last April 23 to 24 issues.

When asked if he knows who is behind the death threat, Ocampo said: "To clear things out, my mother really received death threat calls for me at her house. But I did not pay attention to the exact words that the caller said because I do not take such things seriously."

He said he does not have enemies and he has not done anything wrong to anyone. But still, the actor is doing extra care until the motive of the threat remains unclear.

Reports said the actor was involved in a squabble with his former partner Kristine Hermosa. He was also allegedly engaged car smashing.

Ocampo denied reports of the car incident, saying he is not aware of the reason that he is being dragged in the issue. But he said he knows about the issue, but he was not the one who broke the car. Reports earlier said this incident was the cause of the threat.

"I admit that my family especially my mom is really affected by the threat. But I assured her that she should not be bothered because I did not do anything wrong and to begin with I do not have foes," he said.

Meanwhile, Ocampo disclosed the status of his relationship with Hermosa, saying: "To clarify things once and for all, we're not together anymore. We had gone through a lot of processes that were quite difficult for both of us. At this point, I can say that even if it's hard, we're moving on and we understand that there are some things that we need to sacrifice, we are both dealing with our own duties, that is why sometimes I cannot attend to her as she sometimes fails to do so also. So, we decided that at this point to stay as friends."

Ocampo added that "As far as I can remember I asked her (Hermosa) one time that are you willing to work this out coz I am willing to give it all. At that point when I ask her she said I am not ready. So I said ok then I guess I'll take it from there."

He admitted that he tried to revive his relationship with his ex-partner during their trip to Boracay but sadly they failed to iron things out.

Despite his situation, the actor still allotted time to visit Camarines Norte to conduct a feeding program for Kids Foundation.

Ocampo starting Monday will be seen in the primetime television series "Susan Roces Cinema Collection: Maligno" with actress Claudine Barreto and Rafael Roselle directed by Wenn Deramas.

The actor said it is the first time for him and Barretto to do a horror series.

He is also part of the upcoming television series of ABS-CBN "Iisa Pa Lamang" starring Gabby Concepcion, Barreto and Susan Roces. (JRDB/Sunnex)
