Juday rejects ABS-CBN's offer for 'Ploning' promotion

FOR weeks now, the "tapatan" issue of two much-awaited movies on April 30 still flourishes and becomes noisier in the entertainment industry.

Last Saturday, Judy Ann "Juday" Santos admitted in a television interview that she had rejected a P5 million worth of promotional plugs for her first ever co-produced movie "Ploning".

"It's true (rejection) this is the first time that I really gonna answer the question so I will not answer it again when other people asked me about it. Yes, they offered P5 million worth of teaser or trailer at their station, but I said no because in respect of GMA," she said.

The actress said when she first offered the promotion to her mother station ABS-CBN, they cannot commit to promote her movie because Star Cinema, which is the network's film arm, is also promoting their movie starring Aga Muhlach and Anne Curtis entitled "When Love Begins".

Juday said she is not asking for the network to reschedule the playdate, which is both on April 30, but just for promotional support, as she is also an ABS-CBN talent.

As a result, the actress thought of offering it to other giant network GMA-7 and they accepted it.

"So GMA is like the media partner of Panoramanila Pictures. But I appreciate the thought (ABS-CBN offer) that they want to help me in promoting my film but I hope they would have accepted it when we first offered it to them and not at the time when we committed to GMA," the actress said.

"I do not want people to think that I am not sticking to my words. I owe a lot to ABS because I started from them but at times like this they cannot blame me because we offered it to them," she added.

When asked how his manager Alfie Lorenzo reacted on the issue, she said: "Tito Alfie is always at my back and I can't say anything about that, he has been supporting me all the way and since this is my first time to produce he knows that this is important to me as this movie is a gift from my best friend Dante Garcia and Ryan (Agoncillo, Juday's boyfriend) for the book. This film has a huge importance to me and I invested a lot in this, all my life is at stake here."

As Juday rejected the ABS-CBN's offer, her movie will not appear in any show of the network.

On the contrary, reports said GMA-7 offered more promo plugs for free for the actress's movie. (JRDB/Sunnex)
