Thursday, May 01, 2008 ‘Dyesebel’ pilot episode marks 44.9% ratings
THE Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes tandem proved to remain as a fever for many households as they hooked into “Dyesebel” pilot episode last Monday garnering a 44.9 percent rating in Mega Manila, said the AGB Nielsen survey.
However, some families in the metropolis were disappointed because of the brownout that lasted for about 10 to 15 minutes.
According to a television report last Tuesday, among the areas that hit by the brownout were Anakbayan in Paco, Manila; Bustillos in Sampaloc, Manila; Bambang Sta. Cruz in Tondo, Manila; North Caloocan; some areas in Makati; and other parts of Metro Manila.
Elpi Cuna, vice president for corporate communication of the Manila Electric Company (Meralco), said a problem occurred at a plant in Pangasinan.
“About 329 megawatts were lost in our line and there is automatic load traffic to support the system. But it only lasts for about 10 to 15 minutes,” Cuna said.
Those who failed to watch the whole pilot episode requested for a repeat.
According to GMA-7, it was not the first time a brownout transpired during the airing of the pilot episodes of some of their television series. It also happened at “Darna,” “Captain Barbell,” and “Majika”.
“I would like to think we can’t avert this kind of circumstances nevertheless, I want to tell them (disappointed viewers) that although they failed to watch some parts of the show last night, I guarantee and assure them that the next episodes are more beautiful than those that they missed,” said Dingdong, the lead actor of the series.
