Roque said of the 100,000 jobs available, 30,000 are being offered in Metro Manila and about 10,000 are local opportunities under the cyber services; hotel and restaurant; health and wellness; banking; aviation; and agribusiness.

The remaining 20,000 are overseas employment coming from land-based and sea-based recruitment firms.

"The 100,000 local and overseas job vacancies nationwide will be offered to job applicants, including graduates," Roque said.

Aside from the jobs fairs, the Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) also set up one-stop shop services at WTC for workers' renewal of their National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), passport, birth certificate, Social Security System (SSS) and Pag-ibig membership.

Also, the Dole put up 10 Philjobnet centers and 10 GMA job center kiosks to assist job seekers access online job opportunities.

The labor department earlier estimated that thousands of workers trooped to WTC for job opportunities.

During the program, labor leaders voiced out their concerns on issues involving wage increase, access to cheaper medicines and housing programs.

Victoriano Balais, president of the Philippine Transport and General Workers' Organization (PTGWO), said should the regional wage boards fail to issue wage increase before June, they would urge the government, in particular, Congress to pass a legislated salary adjustment to help workers cope with the rising cost of basic goods and services.
