BI in pursuit of 5 British pedophiles

THE Bureau of Immigration (BI) launched a manhunt against five British pedophiles believed to be hiding in the country.

Commissioner Marcelino Libanan disclosed that among those in the bureau’s wanted list are Kriss McCord, Barry Raymond Edwards, Robert Donaghy, Desmond Graham Kelly, and Paul Francis Gadd, all of whom are suspected pedophiles wanted here and abroad for sexually molesting children.

At the same time, Libanan asked the cooperation of the public in hunting down the said fugitives by volunteering to the BI any information that could lead to their arrest, to call the bureau’s 24-hour hotline at tel. no. 524-3769 (for Metro Manila) and toll-free 1-800-100-ALIENS or 2542 67 (outside Metro Manila).

Meanwhile, Libanan lauded reports of a possible extradition treaty between the Philippines and Great Britain noting that it would boost efforts to hunt down the foreign pedophiles.

“The proposed treaty will surely add more teeth to our campaign in hunting down these foreigners who prey on our women and children. They should not only be deported, they should also be punished for their heinous crimes,” he said.

BI records showed that the bureau arrested and deported five suspected foreign pedophiles since late last year.

American nationals Frederick Dipasquale and Reynaldo Estillore were ordered deported for molesting children in the United States.

Two Japanese nationals Masaichi Suzuki and Yukitoshi Matsushita were deported last January after serving his sentence for raping an eight-month-old girl in Parañaque City more than six years ago.

The bureau also deported a suspected German pedophile, Rudolf Keikut, last year for sexually molesting his adopted daughter. (FP/Sunnex)
